Much needed rest
What I’m reading…
People will be drawn to you—without understanding why. They are, in fact, seeing what the Master Artist wants them to observe: Christ in you, highlighted against dark suffering. You are the canvas on which He paints glorious truths, sharing beauty, and inspiring others. So that people might see Him. - Disability and the Gospel by Michael S. Beates
This is why I keep going as a parent to kids with special needs. Most days it seems like no one knows what we are doing. There is a constant feeling that no one really understands the effects of trauma, medical needs, sensory needs, and cognitive and developmental needs. But maybe, just maybe in all of the mess that this seems to be, the light of the Gospel is shining through to someone who needs to see it.
What I’m listening to…
Currently while writing this post, I’ve got this Lofi-Sunday playlist from Apple Music on:

I’ve found that while writing or trying to get any work done that requires focus, I can’t listen to any music with words and certainly not podcasts. I’ll either start singing/humming along to the song, or get to distracted by what the podcast host is saying. I find Lo-Fi songs like these fade into the background and allow me to focus my thoughts.
Random things this week…
I had several much needed days off from work this week. I was able to spend the time with L and the boys. We went to Top Golf, watched Thor: Love and Thunder and went hiking.
Part of my time off this week was spent on a 7 mile solo hike. It was great to be outside in the quiet and be able to think, pray, and feel refreshed to take on what’s next in life.
